Saint Vitus - 12 Years in the Tomb

Fans of classic Doom Metal rejoice!  Saint Vitus is back after seven long years, and this time with their original frontman Scott Reagers who fronted on the band's first two full-length records before Wino joined in '86.  Vitus reformed in 2008 with Wino on vocals again, releasing their comeback album, Lillie: F-65 in 2012.  Wino departed in 2015, and the band announced the triumphant return of Reagers, and now their new full-length.  The new album is titled Saint Vitus, and isn't to be confused with their debut album from '84 of the same name.  The album will have nine brand new tracks from the Doom titans that we've all come to know and love.

This new single starts with screeching feedback as the drums pummel behind it, and suddenly kicks into a fiery power-chord riff, and Reagers gruff throaty voice climbs into the mix, giving off a tormenting aesthetic.  It's around the two minute mark that the band slows things down and kicks into a monstrous slow riff that's sure to get your head moving, very slowly.  The guitar solo changes things up, and the song slows down throughout its duration until you have a slow march of drums and feedback screaming in your ears before the opening riff gets thrown at you.

Be on the lookout for this new Vitus release if you're a fan.  Pre-Order it here!
